Square "Eie" (Mir)
Berdigestyakh, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)According to the architects' idea, the "Eie" square is designed as a functionally rich environment so that every resident could brighten his leisure time and find a hobby according to his interests. The villagers participated in the search for the prototype of the architectural code and the name of the public garden in the format of workshops and surveys. The neighborhood of the public garden with Victory Square and the hot summer, when all lawns in the village are covered with yellow dandelions, became the identity, the semantic basis for the authors of the project.
The dandelion symbolizes happiness, peace and devotion. If the existing Victory Square is dedicated to the participants of the Great Patriotic War, the new public garden embodies their legacy in the form of peaceful life. The image of the dandelion can be seen in the small architectural forms, the layout of the area, in the entrance canopy and in the interior of the pavilion. Three illuminated dandelions serve as the central artistic object.
Because the facility is located in the center of the village, a complete reorganization of the space was required to meet the needs of residents for a variety of recreational activities.
The central part of the project is the square. It is intended for a variety of events. In addition, there are several other functional zones: a children's playground, a sports zone including a streetball court for young people and teenagers, a workout zone for athletes, a health zone for mature people, a recreation zone and food courts.
The children's play area has been resized and the equipment has been changed. The sports area is located next to the children's play area. The recreation area around the pond is a promenade with a lot of seating and shelters. An all-season pavilion is located on the northeast side, on the site of a demolished facility. The roof is used as a viewing platform.
The pavilion also has a play area for small children. The main part of the large trees is located along the main street and serves as a natural barrier. Inside the pavilion is a café, stylized in the same style as the public garden itself, with branded colors and logo.
The entrance canopy (memorial) is made in the form of a sun resting on supports on which the anthem of Gorny ulus is placed. The name of the square "Eie" translates as "PEACE".
